  • Moms Who Blog

PicCollage-1I have made it into the club of moms who have years of education and professional experience who blog. Why is this different from other bloggers? Because we now use our degrees to help with math homework, figure out what to cook for dinner that four people will consume, or have a conversation with a small person about why picking their nose is not socially acceptable or hygienic. As for myself, I am a new mom trying to navigate how to be a wife, mom, sister, daughter, homemaker, pet caretaker, friend, AND psychotherapist. I began thinking, “How can I do what I love second most to being a mom and still do all the other things I enjoy (like drinking wine and watching bad TV). I know! I’ll blog!” I realized then I had fallen into the category of “moms who blog,” and I am proud of it. I hope that I do us all proud.

So let me tell you what my blog is going to be about. First, I should tell you a little about myself. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Although my private practice is open to any and all, I specialize in couples and relationship therapy. I recently became a mom to a beautiful baby girl. Since having her, I have become more of a stay-at-home mom, leaving less time for practicing therapy. Here’s where the blog comes in. I call myself “The not-so-therapist mom” for a reason. When I tell people I am a therapist, they immediately say, “Oh, you’ve been analyzing me this whole time?” or my husband will say to me in an argument, “Don’t try to use your therapy on me.” To you I say: “‘ain’t nobody got time for that!’ You want to pay me, friend, I’ll analyze you.” Oh, and to my wonderful husband: “if I was using my education right now we probably wouldn’t be arguing!” I also began to realize that the great advice I was giving my clients I was not utilizing on myself. So… the blog was born. I am going to share with you on a weekly basis all the advice I give my clients (for which they pay good money) that I, too, should use myself. From relationships to child rearing, you will go on this journey with my poor family, friends and me. Wish us luck!

I also want to let my readers know that I am open to suggestions and feedback. I encourage you to comment and please let me know if you would like my professional guidance. I’m here to help.

I help Moms Through Counseling & Consulting

I love to help other moms!  As a licensed counselor, I offer individual counseling as well as marriage/relationship therapy for moms in my Chester County, PA counseling office. I also enjoy helping other mom therapists!  I’m a great choice for new therapists who also happen to be moms.  As a qualified LPC clinical supervisor I can help Pennsylvania moms new to the field learn to balance home and work early on.  Additionally, I work with more established therapists who are struggling to balance home/work through my private practice consultation services. Whatever service you may need, I want to support you on your motherhood journey!
